Who We Are: A global leader in the field of Nondestructive Testing (NDT) since 1965, Orbit Industries tests products such as landing gears, jet engine supports, engine components, and hundreds of other critical parts. NDT is one of the key tools used to confirm the quality of aerospace and aircraft components. Our experienced and qualified inspectors conduct testing on metal in sheet, rod, and other forms; in both semi-finished and finished machine parts. All inspection is done to required specifications in the following NDT Methods: Ultrasonic, Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, and Chemical Processing


Conveyance Operator/Tow Motor Operator - Orbit Industries, Inc – Middleburg Heights, OH

Position Summary: Responsible for all movement of material around facility, receiving/shipping product, maintaining material identity, and review and completion of accompanying paperwork/documentation. 

Duties and Responsibilities (at a minimum)  

  • Loading/Unloading trucks, including outdoor flatbed unloading in all weather conditions
  • Receiving and tagging of product by reviewing the purchase order/packing slip and checking for accuracy 
  • Stage product in appropriate storage areas to await inspection 
  • Pull material for inspectors and stage in work area
  • Remove material from work areas to prepare for shipment, securing product with banding/wrapping as necessary.  
  • Maintain a uniform/consistent/organized flow of material within the facility through communication with all levels of the organization
  • Have a central focus on safety of personnel and respect for the equipment at all times
  • Maintain a clean and orderly workspace 
  • Assist in other areas/departments during times of staff shortages/vacations 
  • Other related responsibilities, as assigned by supervisor 

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED required 
  • 1-2 years experience operating a tow motor preferred  
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize critical responsibilities under pressure 
  • Self motivated, with the ability to problem solve and work independently
  • Ability to clearly communicate with team members, supervisors, and all others throughout the organization in a professional manner
  • Dependability: consistently punctual, reliable transportation to work, willing to follow instructions, responsive to management direction, and receptive to feedback to improve job performance
  • Quality of work: demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness in monitoring own work to ensure quality and ability to maintain confidentiality of customer sensitive data

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand/sit for long periods of time
  • Sufficient manual dexterity and personal mobility to allow individual to perform daily job responsibilities
  • Able to withstand working in plant/and or shop areas around production equipment with high noise level
  • Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection

This is an hourly position with offered benefits of: health, dental, vision and paid time off, after completion of a probationary period. Background check and pre-employment drug screen is required.

NDT Technician MT/PT Level II - Orbit Industries, Inc – Middleburg Heights, OH


Position Summary: Orbit is seeking a qualified candidate to fulfill an available position in our Magnetic Particle/Penetrant department for a Level II inspector. Qualified Level II applicants with current certifications are preferred. Level I/Trainee candidates will be considered. Completion of applicable classroom time and practical hours (OJT) to achieve Level II certification with in the first year of employment is required. Candidate must be available to attend evening classes as they are scheduled for the duration of training.

Duties and Responsibilities (at a minimum)

  • Perform calibrations, nondestructive tests, and evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations with respect to applicable codes, standards, and specifications
  • Accurately record results and associated data of nondestructive tests and evaluations
  • Maintain familiarity with the scope and limitations of the method of NDT being used and exercise assigned responsibility for on-the-job training and guidance of Level I technicians.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment. Actively contribute to company safety culture by observing all company safety policies and procedures
  • Use caution and proper handling of company property, equipment, tools, and customer product

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Technical/mechanical aptitude and computer proficiency preferred
  • Written Communication: ability to read and interpret information, write legibly, take accurate measurements from a tape measure, present numerical data effectively, and edit work for correct spelling and grammar

  • Self-motivated, with the ability to problem solve and analyze information skillfully
