Front Desk Receptionist - Part Time

Who We Are: A global leader in the field of Nondestructive Testing (NDT) since 1965, Orbit Industries tests products such as landing gears, jet engine supports, engine components, and hundreds of other critical parts. NDT is one of the key tools used to confirm the quality of aerospace and aircraft components. Our experienced and qualified inspectors conduct testing on metal in sheet, rod, and other forms; in both semi-finished and finished machine parts. All inspection is done to required specifications in the following NDT Methods: Ultrasonic, Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, and Chemical Processing

Position Summary: This position will serve as the first point of contact for Orbit Industries, Inc. and will provide administrative support across the organization. The person in this role will also perform a variety of routine clerical functions such as drafting correspondence, generating reports, and organizing and maintaining files.

Duties and Responsibilities (at a minimum)

  • Answer telephones, take messages, transfer calls to appropriate individuals, provide basic information to callers where required
  • Greet guests in a courteous and hospitable manner, ensuring they are signed in and issued visitor badges
  • Manage filing systems, record information, mail customer documents, and other clerical duties as assigned
  • Sort and distribute mail, track office supply inventory, and place orders for products as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly office environment by performing cleaning duties such as; emptying trash, vacuuming, sanitizing office kitchen, and making coffee. Actively contribute to company safety culture by observing all safety policies.
  • Open and close visitor area for the day and uphold security protocol by keeping doors locked and controlling office access via the reception desk

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Experience: 1-2 years of related experience. (Experience in an office environment will be preferred)
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, specifically MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Proficient in handling office equipment including multiple lined telephones, printers, and photocopy machines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills: ability to read and interpret information, write legibly, and edit work for correct spelling and grammar
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize critical work activities and use time effectively
  • Must present a professional demeanor at all times when interacting with customers, peers, and supervisors
  • Dependability: consistently punctual, reliable transportation to work, willing to follow instructions, responsive to management direction, and receptive to feedback to improve job performance
  • Demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness in monitoring own work to ensure quality and ability to maintain confidentiality of customer sensitive data

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

  • Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Sufficient manual dexterity and personal mobility to allow individual to perform daily job responsibilities

This is a part time hourly position. Background check and pre-employment drug screen is required

Shift: 8:00 – 3:30 pm, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $12.00 /hour
